A historic win for the Bronx and national model in the making!

Congratulations to our partners at Northwest Bronx Community & Clergy Coalition (NWBCCC)!

They have secured a groundbreaking agreement with 8th Regiment Partners and New York City Economic Development Corporation for the redevelopment of the Kingsbridge Armory. This milestone ensures long-term community ownership, shared governance, and deep investment in the people of the Bronx—from affordable manufacturing space to union jobs and a dedicated community hub.

As Elisse Douglass, CEO of East Freedman & Main, shared:

“As owner’s representatives, we are thrilled to support the leadership team, board of directors, and Armory Steering Committee in translating their values into a project that reimagines a future for their community and redefines what’s possible for communities not just in New York City but across the country.”

We’re proud to play a role in bringing this vision to life!

The U.S. Economic Development Administration (EDA) issued a Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) for the FY 2025 Disaster Supplemental Grant Program, making approximately $1.45 billion in disaster recovery funding available to U.S. communities that received major disaster declarations due to hurricanes, wildfires, severe storms and flooding, tornadoes, and other natural disasters occurring in calendar years 2023 and 2024.

EF&M IN MOTION

Displacement is not inevitable—communities deserve the power
to own their future.

At EFM, we’re bringing capital at scale to help community-based organizations (CBOs) purchase land in their neighborhoods before it’s lost to speculation and displacement.

With your support, these funds will secure long-term, equitable infrastructure—affordable housing, small business spaces, land trusts, and cooperatives—that empower residents to remain and thrive, even as their neighborhoods evolve.

We are always on the lookout for funding partners who share our values across all forms of capital—debt, equity, grants, and more. We understand that each of our partners has unique goals and objectives. If you’re interested in discussing the types of investments and impact that matter most to you, and learning more about our current projects and capital requirements, we encourage you to check out our Optimpact profile and connect with us via the links below.
